BAFTA award winning producer and director of documentary Indias Daughter. Leslie Edwin
Remember the horrific story of a gang raped medical student a young woman on a bus in Delhi India? This is what this documentary is about. Watch this interview with Leslee Edwin. I have to share this with everyone and please do share with all your friends.
I don’t think that India has a monopoly on rape. Rape is sadly prevalent in every society on every level amongst the rich and the poor the educated and the uneducated. More often than not rape, sex abuse and sexual violence ‘s swept under the carpet and in some cultures ironically it’s the victim who gets punished while the rapist goes free! It would seem to me that the majority of men worldwide are much less evolved i.e. unable to control their sex drive making them not much better than animals if not worse. Plus the problems of cultures and religions and outdated beliefs that reduce the status and the value of women in general where these sad specimens of men that women are put on earth to tend to their needs and pleasures. i.e. their slaves. And the fact that punishment for rapists is inappropriate and much too mild but then how can it be different when it is men who lay down the laws!
Here’s an article about Rape and Sexual Assault by John Schmidt starts with ‘In the United States, someone is raped or sexually assaulted every two minutes……’

How do you feel about this?
2016 Full of Joys Abundance Prosperity Love Warmth Courage and Spirit! I hardly know anyone around me on all levels who does not have a sad story of suffering to tell one way or another including myself. We are all indeed living in complete pandemonium! As much as some lost souls are determined to demolish and raise havoc in our world, on the other side of the scale are those beautiful souls, both young and old, who are just as resolved and unwavering in their courageous attempts to create and share love kindness and generosity of spirit. It is our own personal decision as to which side of the scale we are on. This goes for all of us as we live our daily individual lives with every thought, with every word, with every action we take beginning with our nearest and dearest at home.
Today I came across this website about The Human Library which I’d like to share with you. What a brilliant idea I thought. I have great admiration for creative people who come up with these fresh fantastic unprecedented ideas! In my younger years where there was no television, forget about internet, I had an aunt who was a great story teller, and once a week we, two or three families, gathered together, and we children sat around on the floor to listen to a fairy tale from the thousand and one nights series. I loved those evenings when we squealed with delight at magicians and demons, giants and genies, enjoyed a world of fantasy where all the impossible was possible and best of all when everything ended happily ever after. I love books and I love libraries and I love this idea. Trust the Danish to come up with innovative ideas. There’s something about those northern countries, me thinks they have a formula for good living, that we all can learn from. Hey maybe you can start something like this in your hometown.
